The Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) scheme is provided through the Australian Trade Commission (AUSTRADE), as part of Commonwealth government initiatives on trade. The scheme allows for subsidy of Export Marketing Expenses. The subsidy is 50% of the export marketing expenses incurred by a company. There is a $15,000 threshold, above which expenses are subsidized.
A maximum grant of $150,000 p.a. is available for eligible exports of goods and services. The grant is available for 7 years, amounting to a total possible subsidy of up to $1,050,000.Strict conditions apply to claiming the grant. There must be supporting documentation for all expenses and payment must be made in the grant year. All expenses must have been accounted for in the period.
